Happy New Year!

I hope your New Year's Eve celebration was great and that you are now ready to tackle the year ahead with equal oomph and style.

For those who know me, you know that the only resolution I make year after year is to keep on being awesome. If you are more of concrete type of resolution person, feel free to share them in the comment below.

Like I did last year, I will offer each of my 2017 Calendar pages for download on the 1st of the month, as I understand that downloading one big huge 12 pages file might not be something everybody might want or can do.
Plus, it gives me the occasion to explain a little more about what went through my mind when I created these pages.

So, January, here we come!

This may sound a bit silly to many of you, but when it comes to the months of the year, my mind has a quirky way of picturing them. Not only are they all placed on a circular path or wheel with a very specific position in my mind, I also associate them with a few specific colours. This is called Synesthesia and it is a real thing.
For me it is affecting how I perceive months, and numbers. Numbers are on a grey scale swirling ribbon I walk upon, and it takes me through archways and steps every 10 numbers.

Anyhow, back to January, since I can't really explain to you about its geographic position on my mental "wheel" and it probably wouldn't translate too well into a calendar page I decided to show you how it looks in colours.
January, for as long as I can remember has always been associated with light blue, gold and silver in my mind.
This is something I did translate in my watercolour work for this month : a powdery blue background and golden triangles. I decided not to get into the whole silver thing as using grey with my ochre yellow didn't look too good.

The triangles are just for fun, I don't associate months with shapes in my mind, colours and positions are already quite enough and I am sure you will agree.

So all you have left to do at this point is go download the January page, If you missed the previous post where I was offering the ENTIRE calendar for download, it is still up, and you can go read all about it over there
