April 2020 Printable Calendar

8:30 AM

I don't know about you, but I feel we have entered a crazy alternate dimension right now and there is no telling when we are going to get out of it.

At the beginning of March I was on track to complete my Monogram project, and I managed to upload the stickers in my Etsy Shop, just in time for them not to be able to ship anywhere for the foreseeable future.
And, just like that we went into lockdown because the 2020 operating system clearly came with a virus and short of a massive system reboot we won't kick it.

At this point, we all have excuses not to really have a notion of passing time, we are all sucked in into a crazy routine of Pj pants, homeschooling, work from home and getting very creative with the content of our pantry cabinets.

But hey! Rejoice, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, in India, as of now, the lockdown will be lifted on April 15 and we are all keeping our finger crossed that it won't extend any further (the government is assuring us it won't).

This means that at one point in April, we will all be making plans again, and this calendar page won't go totally to waste, so in anticipation of being out of your home again, go download the April page now.

What are your plans for when we can socialise, and do normal stuff again?

Mine is to have a big lunch out with my friends, go back to the swimming pool as soon as it's open again, and eat a LOT of salads.
Why? Because this lockdown has put a massive damper on my diet and my metabolism is suffering from the carb overload I've been forced into.
Being insulin resistant, carbs are not agreeing with my system, and if I eat too much of it, the short term effect is bloating, water retention and a lot of gas. In the long run it means lethargy, and weight gain, and a strain being put on my metabolism.
I am doing my best to include variety in my 5-6 mini meal diet plan, but all the things I actually should be eating are in short supply at the moment.

But enough about it, let's keep with the Calendar post pattern and ramble about the artwork shall we?

April is the month associated with the zodiac sign of Aries which goes from March 21st to April 19th.
Aries are motivated, driven, and usually jump first and think later, they are always in movement, always doing something, and are known for their explosive temper.
As a Cancerian myself, I usually don't get along too well with Aries, and I always had a rather explosive relationship with them.

The most notorious being with my cousin brother.

We were partner in crime growing up, and both really not afraid to dive into some mischief, but our leadership styles clashed often, and he was the head on, headfirst type and I was the calculating strategist. He hated my taking time to plan, I hated his "Let's get into this mess right away" approach. But, when it came to coming home with bruises and scrapped knees, we were equals.

This Aries artwork is yellow, because April = yellow in my mind, and you can find it in both my Redbubble and Society6 shops, featured above is the Society6 doormat.

See you all again in May, hopefully being back to a certain degree of normalcy.

  1. It has been a strange April in more ways than one and even stranger navratras. Temples are already closed. Today is ashtami the eight day of the Navratras, when people invite little girls to their homes and feed them food. I have fond memories of accompanying my sister and partaking food. There is usually such buzz in the neighborhood on this day. Girls are in great demand. This year no such thing due to social distancing. It is strange how we take things for granted. No rituals means it is just you and God. Perhaps an indication from the almighty.

About the lockdown, even if it over soon, I don't think I can take the metro, it is too crowded, social distancing goes for a toss. I may have to take my scooter to office,
but I have never driven so far besides my wife needs it for household tasks. Commuting would be really a challenge once lockdown is over. May be tight face mask and pair of gloves could do the trick in metro.
